Make the letter useful

Update one organisation at a time

Address the letter to the team that maintains the relevant account. A generic notification may not replace a required account update, identity check or official change-of-address form. Check each organisation’s instructions.

Make both addresses easy to read

Label the previous and new addresses separately and include postcodes. State the date the new address should be used. If the sender-address field shows your new address, still include both addresses in the body to avoid confusion.

Consider what happens to old post

Notifying an organisation updates its own records. It does not set up postal redirection or update every other sender. Royal Mail offers a separate redirection service; check its current process if you need mail forwarded while you update your contacts.

Is the PDF really free?

Yes. Edit the letter and choose “Download free PDF”. There is no account or payment to download it. PostOwl only charges if you choose printing and postal delivery; the full price is shown before payment.

Can I print or email it myself?

Yes. Keep the downloaded file, print it or attach it to an email if the recipient accepts that method. The PDF is generated in your browser. Choosing postal checkout carries it to the send page, where you can review the document and address.
